DUSK

Gunslingers, Game Art and (monstrous) Girls.

Dusk was born in the South East of England, and is a mixed media artist with a preference for digital software. Growing up watching frame-by-frame animations such as ‘The Last Unicorn’ and ‘The Iron Giant’, they were inspired to draw from very young. Soon after the inspiration came from video games, comic books, and the macabre— leading to a moody, dark style of muted colours and abstract eldritch subject matter.

Works such as the ‘Alien’ franchise, ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’, ‘Star Wars’, and other horror films influence Dusk’s art, along with franchises like ‘Resident Evil’ and ‘Silent Hill’. The notion of creating something influential, something that resonates within a world of fear and darkness is a comforting idea to them. Art stands to disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed.

Dusk has been drawing for 11 years, and has freelanced for the last 3. They have worked with artists and musicians, such as Chris Catalyst (of Eureka Machines, Ghost), designing shirts, posters and merchandising. Dusk has aspirations to be a full-time character artist, and is studying to secure a job within the gaming industry.
